[Ali is still in denial about it too. He has compartmentalized things in his mind and doesn't connect "I enjoy spending time with Concord" with "I have romantic feelings for Concord" because his brain might explode from the revelation. Someday, maybe. But he's not quite ready for that.
He does appreciate all the coins Concord has been bringing him though. If anything, that has encouraged him to be more open and listen to the unicorn every now and then, when he's not having his stubborn moments.
Those words, though, they get a reaction from Ali. He had started to melt into the touch, Concord's broad hands soothing his worries and stressors out of him, but then he hears the word 'spring heat' and he immediately turns to cover Concord's mouth with the tips of his fingers. He would do more but then he would have to actually pull out of Concord's grasp to do so, and he doesn't want to do that.]
